Five pigs killed when a Utena Meat truck caught fire

UAB „Biovela-Utenos mėsa“ has clarified the circumstances of the Friday morning incident at Ukmergė for „Agrobitei“.

„There was an incident on the road which prevented a vehicle carrying pigs from continuing its journey. Five pigs were killed in the fire that broke out during the incident. The incident was quickly resolved and the remaining pigs were safely transported from the scene," said Lina Šetikienė, Marketing Manager of „Biovela Group", to „Agrobite“.

We would like to remind you that on Friday morning, a truck carrying livestock from „Utenos mėsa“ was involved in an incident at the exit from Ukmergė, towards Vydiškės. The rear tyre of the tractor burst and caught fire.

Several police crews arrived at the scene and traffic was closed in one direction.
