A grain conveyor belt caught fire in Klaipėda

A grain conveyor belt caught fire in Klaipėda on Tuesday evening, according to the Fire and Rescue Department (PAGD).

According to the PAGD, at 18:27, a grain conveyor gallery caught fire at Quay 4 on Naujoji Uosto Street in Klaipėda. On arrival, smoke was billowing from the grain conveyor line on the company’s premises. Company staff disconnected the power supply. As the drum of the conveyor tension belt had overheated, chaff and dust were billowing. Efforts were underway to cool the drum from below.
