D. Sabulis was laid to rest in the Romainiai Cemetery. Farmers bid farewell to their colleague (VIDEO)

On Saturday, the farming community said goodbye to Dainius Sabulis (1992-2024), a farmer from the Kėdainiai district who passed away last Sunday. More and more people gathered at the Kėdainiai Funeral Home „Gedulo sala“ from about 10 o'clock to express their condolences to the family and other relatives.

The urn containing the ashes of D. Sabulis was covered in white flowers.

In an unspoken tribute to the deceased, a convoy of tractors gathered in Kėdainiai and, accompanied by a police car, headed towards Kaunas. At Vandžiogala, the convoy turned towards the farm where Sabulis worked until that fateful day. After a short stop, the convoy headed for Kaunas Romainiai Cemetery.

On the way, individual tractors were parked along the road here and there. Farmers sounded their horns to accompany their colleague on his last journey. People, some curious, some who knew Sabulis, had come out of neighbouring houses to the roadside.

"These are the brightest memories (of D. Sabulis – author's note). He was so energetic, so full of energy. Always full of ideas, always some new kind of forward momentum. And not only in the political sphere (remembering the tractor march), but also in the general activities of the Farmers' Union (basketball tournaments and all the other traditions). He was always there everywhere", – said Mindaugas Maciulevičius, the chairman of Kaunas District Farmers' Union, about D. Sabulis.

„Dainius was able to inspire others too. He knew how to enjoy life. And he was extremely friendly, but at the same time principled and courageous. He could stand up for himself and for his friends", said I. Hofmanas in his farewell speech.

See how the farmers said goodbye to their colleague, what they said about D. sabulis and how other people reacted to the farmer's farewell in this „Agrobite play“ episode.
