Two farmers set off on a long journey around Lithuania
On Sunday, the Farmers' Union of Vilkaviskis Region (Vilkaviskis Region Farmers' Union - VKŪS) sent Artūras Vakarinas and Šarūnas Radvinauskas on a long journey of about 1500 kilometres around Lithuania in a tractor „T-150K“. The journey will take well over a week, although the farmers had originally planned it to take this long.
The farmers, who introduce themselves as "Pinky" and "Makaule", said goodbye to their friends and family on Sunday. There were also some tender moments, as, for example, Mr Vakarinas left his wife Eurika at home for an extended period of time with their three young children.
„I can still see the crystal in his eye“, smiled Artūras' wife Eurika, adding that when her husband first mentioned whether she would take him on a trip around Lithuania, he couldn't believe it himself.
„Yes, when I told him that I would be proud of him, he walked around the house for two days checking to see if it was true“, – recalled Eurika.
The tractor and trailer were seen off by a large group of friends and acquaintances of Arthur and Šarūnas.
The farmers had planned at least 8 places where they would stop. The plan is to visit other farmers, talk to them and socialize.
The farmers are going to spend the night in a trailer that they have specially adapted for the purpose.
