Kėdainiai fertiliser plant „Lifosa  produced slightly more than 440,000 tonnes of fertilisers in 2024, or 3.5 times more than a year earlier, when the company sold about 125,000 tonnes of fertilisers, writes „Verslo žinios“.

According to the portal, a similar amount of about 446,000 tonnes of diammonium phosphate was produced by „Lifosa“ in 2021.Back then, a favourable price (436 euros per tonne) allowed the company's revenue to exceed 526 million euros and its net profit to reach 120.7 million euros.

In its annual report, the company's shareholder „Eurochem Group“ said that „Lifosa“ production in Lithuania has been „successfully resumed“. The company's production in the country had been idle from May 2023 until June last year.

In the first three months of this year, the country's manufacturing sales totalled nearly €7 billion, more than half a billion more than the same period last year.

35% of this growth was driven by the chemicals and chemical sector, with sales up by more than a fifth – nearly €200 million  . This fully offset the lower figures for all other sectors – overall sales fell by around €65 million.
