P. Šiaučiūnas. The sheep under the wreckage"

"We couldn't make it. Sheep under the wreckage", – this is how Petras Šiaučiūnas, a well-known Lithuanian farmer, reported on the aftermath of the disaster on Sunday noon. He shared a photo of a collapsed barn. The heavy snowfall meant that the structures could not withstand it.

It is not yet clear how badly the sheep were affected.

„First aid is here. The roof is cracking. It's about to cave in. Maybe we'll be able to salvage something“," said Mr Šiaučiūnas in a video uploaded an hour ago, sitting in a telehandler.

He appealed to his followers on Sunday for someone to come with a telehandler and help him clean the roof of the barn. The barn was covered in slate sheets, which may have made the structure more susceptible to the heavy weight of snow.

In the above video, Mr Šiaučiūnas explained that he could not climb on the roof himself due to health problems, so he asked followers for help. "Or the barn and all the sheep will collapse," Šiaučiūnas told his followers.
