The European Union (EU) announced on Monday that it has agreed on a new long-term trade deal with Ukraine covering food imports from the war-torn country.

Ukrainian food imports are causing outrage among EU farmers.

„With this renewed agreement, we are securing the flow of trade from Ukraine to Europe and global markets, said European Commission (EC) President Ursula von der Leyen.

„At the same time, we will continue to defend the interests of our farmers“, – she added.
