Donald Trump orders cuts in import duties on certain agricultural products

U.S. President Donald Trump signed an order on Friday to cut import duties on agricultural products such as beef, bananas, coffee and tomatoes, as his government comes under pressure from voters struggling with the rising cost of living.

These products are now exempt from his „reciprocal“ tariffs, which were imposed this year to address conduct deemed unfair after the administration considered issues such as the US's – or lack thereof – ability to produce certain goods.

But other duties will continue to apply.

The new exemptions take effect retroactively – on November 13, according to a White House order.

Democrats won all of these elections by focusing on cost-of-living issues.
