With sales falling, the Polish beer market has been contracting for the eighth year running, according to the latest figures.

“Between 2018 and 2025, the market contracted by more than 7.5 million hectolitres, which is equivalent to the annual output of three average breweries,” – according to a statement from the Beer Industry Employers’ Association.

These figures reflect the “difficult situation” facing the Polish beer industry, said the union’s Director General, Bartlomiej Morzycki. He also highlighted the growing popularity of the “NoLo” (non-alcoholic and low-alcohol drinks) and “Better for You” health trends. He added that these changes are increasingly shaping the habits of Polish consumers.

“Economic factors are also important,” added B. Morzycki. – Beer is a highly price-sensitive product, and its retail price has risen by more than 40 per cent in recent years.“

The association also noted that in the first half of this year, sales of non-alcoholic beer rose by 16.2 per cent, with a 30.1 per cent surge recorded in June alone, compared with the same period last year.
