The Ministry of Agriculture proposes to ban more than 2.8 thousand products from Russia and Belarus
After the Lithuanian Parliament banned the import of agricultural products and products originating in Russia or Belarus in April, a specific list of these products has been drawn up by products into šal.
The MAFF has drafted a government decree that includes – 24 groups of products.
It is proposed that certain live animals such as guinea fowl, meat and some of its products, fish and crustaceans, milk and its products, pigs and pig products, honey, trees and other plants, bulbs, vegetables, fruits, nuts and other products, and other products should no longer be admitted;fruit, coffee, tea, spices, cereals and their products, flour, starch, oil and fats, cooking oil, sugar, as well as cocoa, non-alcoholic beverages, alcoholic beverages, vinegar, animal feeds, food residues, tobacco and processed substitutes for tobacco.
The amendments to the Law on the Imposition of Restrictive Measures on Military Aggression against Ukraine, which will remain in force until 2 May 2025, have already been signed into law by President Gitanas Nausėda.
He vetoed the law in the first place because of the different sanctions imposed on Russian and Belarusian citizens, but the Seimas overruled the veto.
