Report of potentially unattended cattle

In Lazdijai district, information was received from residents about cattle in a village that may have been improperly cared for. According to local residents, the animals were found dead in the surrounding meadows after the winter, which raised concerns about the housing conditions and welfare of the animals.

The municipality and the municipality's Agriculture Department have been informed of the possible situation. The responsible authority, the State Food and Veterinary Service, has also been contacted to assess the circumstances and determine whether animal welfare requirements have been violated.
