Estonia sees year-on-year increase in milk purchase prices

The average farm-gate milk price in Estonia last month was 13.7% higher than in October last year at €508.2 per tonne, the national statistics office has reported.

In October, the average milk purchase price rose by 0.9 per cent during the month compared to September.

Purchase volumes fell by 3.6 per cent on the month and 3.4 per cent on the year to 71.9 thousand tonnes.

The average fat content of milk purchased last month was 4.0 percent and the average protein content was 3.5 percent. Over the year, the former increased by 0.1 percentage points and the latter remained stable.
