The average farm-gate milk price in Estonia last month was 4.1% higher than in December last year, at €500 per tonne, the national statistics office has reported.

The average milk purchase price fell by 0.9 per cent in December compared with November.

Purchase volumes increased by 3.1 per cent on the month and decreased by 2.9 per cent on the year, to 75.9 thousand tonnes.

The average fat content of milk bought last month was 4.1% and the average protein content 3.4%. Over the year, the former has remained stable, while the latter has decreased by 0.1 percentage points.
