It should be recalled that the revised EU duty-free trade regime with Ukraine, which has been in force since 6 June this year, provides for an "emergency suspension" of the supply of seven agricultural products, which will automatically start to operate if import volumes reach the average annual volumes recorded during the period from mid-2021 to the end of 2023.

This target for egg supply is 23 189 tonnes, for sugar 262 653 tonnes.

The notification notes that from 1 January to 5 June 2025 a tariff rate quota corresponding to 5/12 of the "emergency stop" activation limit will be in force. The quota for the supply of eggs is set at 9,662 tonnes and for sugar at 109.44 thousand tonnes.
