"interAG celebrates: eight Biolectric plants are just the beginning (VIDEO)
On these days UAB „interAG“, under the leadership of Ugnius Stančiauskas, had the opportunity to celebrate: not only the upcoming St. The company also celebrated not only Christmas, but also the official opening of the first „Biolectric“ club in the Baltic States. Farmers and distinguished guests alike gathered at the „Volfas Engelman“ studio in Kaunas, starting with the arrival of the Belgian Ambassador to Lithuania and Poland, Rik Van Droogenbroeck, and ending with the arrival of the head of the Belgian company, Klaas Vanhee.
Independent of market price changes
In a friendly and non-committal environment, Lithuanian farmers, who were the first to install biogas plants on their farms, were able to share their experience of how much they contribute to the sustainability of farms. Practically all waste products, i.e. manure and slurry, are converted into electricity and heat by „Biolectric“.
„We first met Ugnis three years ago. That conversation about the cooperation between "interAG" and "Biolectric" was not just about sales. What is important for us is that what Ugnius told us then, he put into practice," said Klaas Vanhee, CEO of „Biolectric“.
However, according to Rik Van Droogenbroeck, Belgian Ambassador to Lithuania and Poland, it is the technological superiority of a product, together with the human connections, that are the determining factors for success.
„When people believe and understand the benefits and value of a technology, they start investing. And after these investments, farms become independent from the price of electricity or gas. In Poland, too, the start was similar," said Rik Van Droogenbroeck‘.
In less than three years, eight „Biolectric“ power plants have been installed in Lithuania, and 12 more are under construction. Poland, for its part, has installed 110 of these biogas plants.
Continuous improvement of technology
Arūnas Lipavičius, who first installed a „Biolectric“ microbiogas plant on a farm in the Klaipėda region, is also the official president of the first „Biolectric“ club in the Baltic States.
He said that it is very important that the state contributes to the implementation of similar projects, otherwise it would be difficult for farms to build „Biolectric“ biogas plants.
Erikas Bėrontas, President of the Lithuanian Association of Agricultural Machinery, wished to see a similar breakthrough in Latvia, as in Lithuania.
The neighbouring country does not yet have a single „Bioelectric“ power plant, but Latvians are already actively interested in the possibility of installing them.
„I myself invested in „Biolectric" 8 years ago because I believe in the products it develops, – emphasised „Biolectric“ CEO Klaas Vanhee. Our company employs 60 people, 10 of whom work exclusively on the development and research of our technology. And we have invested a lot of money in research in recent years.
According to „interAG“ CEO Ugniaus Stančiauskas, using the latest „Biolectric“ technologies, biogas plants offer the opportunity to produce more than just heat and electricity.
„We can already take care of cooling and other things from the gas produced“, – says U. Stančiauskas, while at the same time wishing all the farmers a nice holiday season.
