Polish investor intends to buy Marijampolė Pienas Konserves
An unidentified Polish investor intends to acquire Lithuanian dairy processing company „Marijampolės pieno konservai“ (MPK) and the restructuring dairy producer Lukšių pieninė, which is being restructured, and the deal is expected to be finalised this year, writes the portal "Verslo žinios“" on Friday.
According to him, MKP has been in contact with the investor – one of the largest Polish dairy processing companies – for several years due to the protracted legal disputes, but during the dispute in the courts over the will of the deceased owner of the company, Raimonds Karpavičius, it was unclear who the true heirs of the business are.
„The investor is a serious investor with the goal of expanding our production and the financial capacity to do so. They would integrate the acquired companies into their business. We would sell the whole business – with contracts for the purchase of raw materials and the sale of products, they would take over all the employees. There are no special conditions in the negotiations," Henrikas Karpavičius, one of MPK's shareholders, told the portal.
BNS wrote that the property division case of R. Karpavičius was brought to an end in December last year, with the Supreme Court declaring legal the will by which R. Karpavičius bequeathed his entire estate, including the company „Karpis“, the manager of MPK, to his second wife Aistea Karpavičienė and his brother H. Karpavičius.
However, disputes over the management of MPK are still ongoing in the courts.
„Karpis“ owns „Marijampolės piena konzervės“, „Rarkarpis“ in Tenerife, Lukšių and Širvintai dairies, „Ferogama“ and „Vitaut“ in Ukraine.
