Both imports and exports in Lithuania declined in November compared to October last year
In November 2025, exports of goods amounted to €3.12 billion and imports to €3.63 billion, according to the State Data Agency. Exports fell by 2.3% and imports by 2.5% during the month (November 2025 vs. October).
The deficit in international trade in goods amounted to €510.4 million, with exports of Lithuanian goods worth €2.12 billion.
According to the data of the Authority, exports increased by 1.4% and imports by 3.1% during the year (November 2025 vs. November 2024). The increase in exports was due to an increase in exports of mineral fuels, mineral oils and their distillation products (20%) and fertilizers (31.3%). The increase in imports was due to an increase in imports of mineral fuels, mineral oils and their distillation products (7.6%), machinery and mechanical appliances and parts thereof (7.3%). Exports of goods other than mineral products decreased by 0.8% and imports increased by 1.2%.
Exports of goods of Lithuanian origin increased by 2.5%, excluding mineral products – decreased by 1.9%.
In the course of the year, import growth strongly outpaces exports
Exports are estimated to have fallen by 0.8% on an annual basis (in January/November 2025 compared to the same period in 2024), while imports increased by 4.4%. The decline in exports was driven by a fall in exports of mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of distillation (3.9%), miscellaneous chemical products (17.9%), plastics and articles thereof (5.7%). The increase in imports was due to an increase in imports of electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof (13.9%), land transport equipment (9.7%), machinery and mechanical equipment and parts thereof (6.3%). Exports of goods other than mineral products decreased by 0.3%, while imports increased by 6.2%. Exports of goods of Lithuanian origin increased by 1.8%, excluding mineral products by 3.4%.
The Agency said that in January-November last year, exports to Latvia (12.4%), Poland (10.3%), Germany (9%) were the highest, while imports came from Poland (13.9%), Germany (12.9%) and Latvia (8.4%). Exports of Lithuanian origin were mainly to Poland (9.9%), Germany (9.5%), the Netherlands (8.2%), Latvia (7.7%) and the United States (6.2%).
The data show that in January/November 2025, the main exports were of mineral products (14%), machinery and mechanical equipment, electrical equipment (13.6%), chemical and allied products (11.3%); the main imports were of machinery and mechanical equipment, electrical equipment (18.5%), mineral products (17.5%), chemical and allied products (12.1%).Of the goods of Lithuanian origin, the most exported were mineral products (16.9%), furniture, lighting equipment, prefabricated buildings (10.8%), prepared foods, non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages, tobacco and processed tobacco substitutes (10.7%), machinery and mechanical equipment, electrical equipment (10.1%).
