The basket of the cheapest food products got cheaper in April

A basket of the cheapest food products in Lithuanian shops in April cost 0.8% (EUR 0.59) less than in March and 12.7% (EUR 8.22) more than in April last year, according to the latest analysis of the pricer.lt price tracking portal, published on Tuesday.

In April 2025, the basket rose by 31.5% (€17.48) compared to April 2021, the portal said. 

In March, the cheapest basket was at „Maximo“ – €60.31 (up €0.68 on the month), followed by „Lidl“ – €63.99 (down €10.41), „Barbora“ – €65.94 (up €2.34), „Barbora“ –Norfa“ – 74,08 euro (0,19 euro less), „Rimi“ – 75,56 euro (2,2 euro more), „e-Rimi“ – 76,37 euro (1,68 euro more), „Iki“ – 83,7 euro (1,34 euro more).

The difference between the cheapest and the most expensive basket was €24.32, or 40.3 per cent.

Analysis of the average basket price of popular and well-known pricer.lt products in April 2025 shows that prices fell by 0.3 per cent during the month but were 9.5 per cent higher than a year ago.

Of the 52 products monitored by pricer.lt, 41 increased in price, 9 decreased in price and two remained stable. The most expensive items were – ground roasted coffee, black chocolate, apples, yoghurt, sunflower oil, butter, black bread, chicken eggs, tomatoes.
