"Achema is considering selling shares in some of its companies

The Jonava-based nitrogen fertiliser production company „Achema“, controlled by one of the largest Lithuanian business groups „Achema Group“, controlled by Lydia Lubiene and Viktorija Lubytė, is considering selling shares in some of the companies it owns.

The company's Management Board has added to the agenda of the shareholders' meeting on 17 April an item concerning the sale of shares in the companies owned by „Achema“, the company has informed the Centre of Registers.

According to the company, this and other issues on the agenda of the shareholders' meeting „are in no way related to the sale of shares of the concern „Achema Group“. 

According to the data of the Centre of Registers, the company „Achema“ in Lithuania owns 100 per cent of the shares of the company „Iremas”, a repair company of special equipment, and the company „Gaschema“, a producer of technical gases. industrial bags producer „Achempak“, 30.82% – of fertiliser and grain supplier „Agrochema“ and 22.18% – of „Klaipėda Shiprepair“.

Partial shares in „Achempak“, „Agrochema“ and „Klaipėdos laivų remonto“ are held directly by „Achemos grupė“. In addition, „Achema“ also owns two fertilizer trading companies „Liteximp“ from Poland and „Litfert“ from France.

BNS wrote that Lubienė intends to sell a controlling stake in the group to „MET Group“, a Swiss energy company with Hungarian roots. One of the minority shareholders of „Achema Group“, the former president of the group, Arūnas Laurinaitis, also announced his intention to buy the stake for EUR 303 million in January this year. However, when Lubiene refused to sell, he went to court.

L. Lubienė owns 41.59% of the shares of „Achema Group“, V. Lubytė – 12.47%, the rest – 13 natural persons.
