Claas Jaguar 1200 forage chopper breaks world record for productivity
Agricultural machinery manufacturer „Claas“ has announced that the performance record of its „Class Jaguar 1200“ forage chopper has been officially set by the Guinness Book of Records at the „Agritechnica 2025“ exhibition. The record was achieved on 2 June 2025 and announced at the show.
In certified tests at a demonstration farm in the US state of Texas, the machine crushed more than 1,020 tonnes of maize pulp in 8 hours at an average speed of 127 tonnes per hour. In 12 hours, the Jaguar 1200 crushed 4,096 tonnes. This is by far the best performance in the segment of series production crushers.
Over the whole time, the machine consumed an average of 0.49 litres of diesel per tonne of harvested crop.
The last „Claas“ record was achieved in 2001, when 1,891 tonnes of harvest were harvested in 12 hours.
The new record was set by the new „Jaguar 1200“ system, equipped with a 12.5 litre engine generating up to 1,050 hp. This power unit allows for stable, heavy loads and ensures maximum process efficiency even under varying field conditions.
The integrated „Cemos Auto Performance“ control system automatically optimises the engine load, gearbox operation and travel speed, minimising fuel consumption and ensuring consistent shredding quality throughout the entire working cycle.
The new model features an improved shredding chamber with „MaxCut 64“ drums, which allow precise adjustment of the shredding length from 3 to 22 mm.
Expert evaluation shows that the uniformity of the feed fraction exceeded the 94% accuracy limit and the mass density in the trench increased to 230 kg/m³, which directly results in better preservation quality and lower losses.
