EU agricultural output prices were 3% higher this year, according to Eurostat

European Union agricultural output prices will rise by an average of 3% in 2025 compared to 2024, Eurostat said on Thursday, based on preliminary estimates.

In contrast, the prices of goods and services used in agricultural production (inputs) were up by a more modest – less than 1 percent this year.

Eurostat notes that the dynamics of agricultural output prices have been very different this year.

Beef meat (26%) and eggs (23%) were the most expensive, while fruit and milk (10% each) and poultrymeat (9%) were more modest. Meanwhile, olive oil (37%), potatoes (22%), pork (6%) and cereals (1%) showed significant decreases.

Milk prices rose in all Community Member States except Greece, where they fell by 3%. The biggest price increases were in Denmark (21%), Estonia (20%), Lithuania and the Czech Republic (17% each).
